Area 02 / Operations & integrations

Processes.
Exceptions.
Connections.

Systems that reveal where work waits, who decides and what must be verified when tools connect.

Three active projects

The work between systems.

Flow, Bridge and Signal are in definition and design. They cover exceptions, integration contracts and operational flow analysis.

A next action with a clear owner.

  1. Exception
  2. Owner
  3. Next step

Make the next action clear.

We bring process exceptions together to define who should resolve them, with what information and by when.

What it addsOne operational queue where every blockage has context, an owner and a next action.

The context

A blocked order, missing approval or partial delivery can be scattered across email, ERP and spreadsheets. The difficulty comes when no tool makes it clear who should resolve the exception.

Validation criteria

Which states can be interpreted reliably, who can change them and whether configuring the current software would be enough. The useful difference would have to be resolving exceptions across tools.

Next milestone

One order-to-delivery workflow with a defined set of exceptions. Compare blocked time, handoffs without an owner and coordination effort, including the work needed to maintain the inbox.

Verifiable integrations

Check the connection before it goes live.

  1. Source
  2. Test
  3. Destination

Test before connecting.

We design system exchange tests to identify changes in data and business rules before operation.

What it addsA testable integration contract: inputs, outputs, exceptions and regressions visible before production.

The context

A connection can keep responding while interpreting a status, unit or identifier incorrectly after an update. Finding that difference in a test environment can prevent it appearing in a real order.

Validation criteria

Access to test environments, representative examples and the ability to remove sensitive data. We would need to show which failures it detects beyond tests already supplied by the vendor or integrator.

Next milestone

One integration, two versions and a catalogue of known failures in an isolated environment. Measure detected regressions, false alerts and the time required to check an update. Tests would not write to production systems.

Operational insight

See where the process is waiting.

  1. Events
  2. Waiting
  3. Intervention

See where work waits.

We connect process events to locate delays and decide where an intervention is worthwhile.

What it addsA view of the whole journey that prioritises improvements by waiting time and friction, rather than isolated intuition.

The context

Process timings are spread across applications. Without reconstructing the whole workflow, it is easy to automate a quick task while work still waits for days somewhere else.

Validation criteria

Whether the records can reconstruct the process and whether the analysis is useful with limited data. Simulations would state their assumptions. They would not offer guaranteed predictions or rank individual employees' performance.

Next milestone

One process with verifiable dates and states, compared with the team's observations. Measure workflow coverage, confirmed waiting time and the effect of an agreed improvement, accounting for changes in volume and type of work.

Is there a process behind it?

Bring a real case. We structure it before deciding what to build.
